People, committee and award blocks

These blocks show people, committees, partner organizations and awards. Three of the eight — Award, Awards Grid and Award Winners — sound alike and are easy to mix up, so read the comparison at the end before picking one.

Staff

Pulls from Staff (see Staff and Departments). Selection Mode is Manual — pick specific staff members — or By Category, showing everyone in one Department, with an optional search box and pagination.

Fields that matter: the usual header fields (see Layout and highlight blocks), Selection Mode, Staff Members (Manual) or Category (By Category), Enable Search, up to 2 buttons.

Officers

A hand-built list of leadership positions — not a filtered view of Staff. Each row is a Position (e.g. "Chairman of the Board") plus either:

  • a linked Member — the card then shows that member's own live public profile photo and name automatically, or
  • a typed Name and uploaded Photo — the fallback for anyone not in your member data (an appointed CEO, for example) or without a member-uploaded photo.

Each row needs one or the other. An optional Bio PDF adds a "Download Bio" link to the card.

Fields that matter: Officers (array, at least one) — Position, Member or Name/Photo, optional Bio.

Use Officers when you're listing elected leadership or executives who need to link out to their public member profile. For your association's paid staff directory, use Staff instead.

Committees

Pulls from Committees (see Committees and committee members). Selection Mode is All Committees or Manual — pick specific ones.

Fields that matter: the usual header fields, Selection Mode, Committees (Manual mode).

Partners

Shows every logo from one Partner Group you choose (see Partners) as a row of tiles. Renders pulled up over the block above it, so it reads best directly under a Banner, Statistics or similar full-width section — expect it to overlap upward on the page rather than sitting in its own clean band.

Fields that matter: Title (defaults to "Discount Partners"), up to 2 buttons, Partners Group (required — the whole block shows one group at a time).

Designations List

A hand-built list of items — a logo, a title, a description and an optional link — typed directly into the block. Nothing here is pulled from a collection.

This is a different thing from the Designations field on a member record (see Licence and designation data on member records) — that field shows a member's own NAR-sourced designations and is read-only. This block is for a page that explains or promotes designation programmes themselves (e.g. "GRI," "CRS") with your own logos and copy.

Fields that matter: the usual header fields, Designations (array) — logo, title, description, optional link.

Award

One specific award. Set the Award Year, and the block pulls that year's winners of the award into an auto-rotating slider next to the award's own heading and description.

Fields that matter: the usual header fields, Award Year — filters which winners appear in the slider.

Awards Grid

A grid of the award programmes themselves — not winners. Selection Mode is All Awards or Manual — pick specific ones, in the order you select them.

Fields that matter: the usual header fields, Selection Mode, Awards (Manual mode), Limit (All mode).

Award Winners

Pulls from Award Winners (see Awards and award winners), grouped by year, newest first. Leave Award empty to show every winner across every award; set it to filter down to one award's winners only.

Fields that matter: Award — optional filter, leave empty for everyone.

Award vs Awards Grid vs Award Winners

  • Award — one award programme's page: its own description plus that one year's winners in a slider.
  • Awards Grid — a directory of award programmes to browse (like a "see all our awards" page) — no winners shown.
  • Award Winners — a directory of people who've won, grouped by year — optionally narrowed to one award.
