FAQ, accordion and link blocks

Four of these blocks look alike on the page — rows that expand and collapse — but they get their content from different places, which is the thing to get right before adding one. This article also covers a fifth, unrelated block that groups links into cards.

Accordion

Expand/collapse rows you write directly inside the block — nothing here comes from another collection. Each row is a title plus a rich text answer (which can itself embed a Text Section, Image & Text, Call to Action or Video Player). You can add an optional intro paragraph above the rows, and each row's title can carry its own link/button.

Fields that matter: optional Intro text, Rows — each a Title, rich text Contents, and an optional link.

Use Accordion when the questions and answers are specific to this one page and won't be reused anywhere else.

Accordion Grid

Also hand-written rows, but simpler (title + plain description, no embedded blocks, no per-row link) and laid out in 1 or 2 columns with a centered heading above.

Fields that matter: the usual header fields (see Layout and highlight blocks), Columns (One or Two), Items — each a Title and a Description.

Use Accordion Grid when you want a compact, two-column list of short blurbs rather than one long single-column list — a features or benefits breakdown, for example. For full formatted answers or a per-row link, use Accordion instead.

FAQ Section

Pulls specific entries from the FAQ collection into an accordion — you pick which questions to show. This is how an "ordinary" FAQ entry (one with no Topic set) actually reaches a page; see FAQs and Legal FAQ topics.

Fields that matter: a Title, and the FAQ items to include (picked from the FAQ collection).

Use FAQ Section when you're reusing FAQ entries that are also useful in other places, or when you want the same set of questions kept in sync across a page and the FAQ collection. If a question is only ever going to appear on one page and nowhere else, a plain Accordion is simpler.

Legal FAQ Topics

Not a picker — this block adds an optional heading and intro above a full, searchable index of every Legal FAQ Topic, generated automatically from the Legal FAQ Topics collection (including a search box and the two-level topic/sub-topic structure). See FAQs and Legal FAQ topics.

Fields that matter: the usual header fields only. There is nothing to pick — the list itself is automatic and always complete.

Use Legal FAQ Topics on one page only — the Legal FAQ index page. It always shows every topic, so adding it to a second page would just duplicate the same full list.

Category Links

Unrelated to the four above: a row of cards, each with a title, a description, a link on the card's own arrow icon, and a list of Resource Links underneath it. Laid out in two columns with a centered heading.

Fields that matter: the usual header fields, Categories (array) — each with a Title, Description, a card-level Link, and a Resource Links list.

Use Category Links when you want to route visitors toward several different resources or sub-sections at a glance, each with its own short blurb and its own set of links — a "start here" style directory block, rather than an expand/collapse list.
