News
News is under Content in the left-hand menu. It holds your news articles and announcements.
Drafts
News articles have a full draft workflow:
- Save as a Draft while you work — nothing is public until you publish.
- Your work saves itself as you type.
- You can schedule an article to publish on a future date.
Events and Documents don't work this way — saving those publishes immediately. If you've used either of those and assumed News behaves the same, it doesn't, and the difference is in your favour here.
Writing an article
- Click News in the left-hand menu.
- Click Create New.
- Fill in the Title.
- Check the Publication Date — it fills in with today automatically.
- Write the article using blocks.
- Save as a Draft while you work.
- When it's ready, Publish.

Moderating comments
Members can submit comments on a news article from the website, and each article has its own Comments tab where you approve, reject or delete what comes in.
Comment Moderation, in the sidebar, controls how new comments behave:
- Post-moderation (the default) — a comment publishes immediately, and you take it down afterwards if it needs removing.
- Pre-moderation — a comment is held as Pending until a staff member approves it.
Untick Comments Enabled to turn commenting off for that article entirely.
Archiving
Older news articles are archived automatically after a set number of years, rather than staying live on the site forever. An archived article:
- Disappears from the website and from site search.
- Stays exactly as it was in the CMS — nothing is deleted, and you can still find, read and edit it here.
- Can be brought back at any time. Open the article and untick Archived in the sidebar — it returns to the site immediately.
You'll see this most often as "why has an old article disappeared from the site" — check the Archived tick box on the sidebar before assuming anything is broken.
You can also archive or unarchive an article by hand at any time, regardless of its age.
Finding an article
The list shows Title, Publication Date, whether it's Archived, and when it was last changed. Use the search box at the top to find one by name.
Editing a published article
Edit and save as normal. Your change is live immediately.
Deleting
Deleting is permanent, and any link to the article stops working. If an article is simply out of date, archiving it is usually the better choice — see above.
Where this appears on the website
Each article has its own page under /news/.
