Header

Header is in the left-hand menu. It holds your logo, the small links above your main menu, your main menu itself, and the CTA button — everything in the band across the top of every page.

This is also where your main menu lives. Unlike a lot of admin screens, "Header" is not just branding here — the Primary Navigation tab is where you build the menu across the top of your site, including drop-downs.

The screen is split into four tabs.

Branding

Your Logo and your Copyright Text. The copyright text is used in the footer, not here, but it's set on this screen — see Footer. The current year and © symbol are added automatically, so just write the name: Texas REALTORS®. All Rights Reserved.

Top Bar

The Left Items and Right Items are the small links that sit in the thin strip above your main menu — things like a phone number or a member-login link. Each item is a link plus optional icons on either side.

  1. Click Add Item under Left Items or Right Items.
  2. Choose what it links to (see Choosing what a link points to, below).
  3. Optionally add an icon.
  4. Save.

Primary Navigation

This is your main menu — Nav Items, in the order they appear left to right.

  1. Click Add Item under Nav Items.
  2. Add the link itself.
  3. If this item should have a drop-down, turn on Enable Mega Menu underneath it and fill in Links.
  4. Save.

Choosing what a link points to

Every link in the CMS works the same way: Internal link (a page, news article or event on your own site), Custom URL (any other web address), or File Upload (a file people download). Internal link is almost always the right choice for your own content — if the page's address ever changes, the link follows it automatically. A typed Custom URL does not, and will quietly break.

The mega menu

Turning on Enable Mega Menu on a nav item turns it into a drop-down. Under Links, add one row per item in the drop-down — and each of those can have its own Sub Links, and each sub link its own Sub-Sub Links. Three levels deep is the most this menu supports.

Turn on Show Colored Card to add an accent-coloured panel down the left side of the drop-down, with its own title, description and link — useful for pointing people at one thing you want to highlight from that section of the menu.

CTA Button

The single prominent button at the end of the header — the one thing you most want people to do (Join, for example).

Untick Show CTA Button to hide it entirely. Otherwise set the CTA Button Link and, if you want one, a CTA Icon.

There is only one CTA button here — it isn't a list. If you need more than one action highlighted, that's what the Top Bar links are for.

Saving

There is no draft. Changes on this screen go live across the whole site as soon as you save. Preview the site afterwards, especially the mega menu — it's the easiest place for a typo to hide.

This screen does keep a version history, the same way Footer does — if a save breaks something, open the record and restore an earlier version rather than trying to rebuild it from memory. See Drafts and version history.
