Awards and award winners
Awards and Award Winners are both under Content in the left-hand menu. Awards is the programme itself (its rules, its nomination process); Award Winners is the people who've won it, year by year.
Setting up an award
- Click Awards in the left-hand menu.
- Click Create New.
- Fill in the Title and a Description.
- Set Submission Opens and Submission Closes — the website derives "open" or "closed" from these two dates.
- Attach a Guidelines Doc, if you have one.
- Set up nominations (see below).
- Save as a Draft while you work, then Publish when ready.
Untick Active to retire an award without deleting it — its history (winners, description) stays intact. Members Only restricts the award's page to signed-in members.
Nominations
Two ways to collect nominations, and you can use either:
- Nomination Form — a form built in the CMS (see Site forms and submissions). The preferred approach going forward.
- Nomination Form URL — a link to an outside form (JotForm), kept as a fallback during the transition to the CMS's own forms.
Recording a winner
- Click Award Winners in the left-hand menu.
- Click Create New.
- Fill in First Name and Last Name — these combine automatically into the record's title.
- Choose the Award they won and the Year.
- Add a Location and Photo, if you have them.
- Optionally write a Bio — useful for something like a "REALTORs® to Watch" profile.
- Click Save.
Who can do what
Both screens use the same access: any signed-in user can create, edit and delete. Neither is role-restricted the way Pages or News is.
